Is it good to keep battery saver on all the time?
Leaving your power saving mode on all the time limits the cpu speed, dims the screen and turns off syncing.
So it cripples your phone, I rather carry an extra battery.
If you set it to auto at least it won’t come on until the battery is at 25%.
It does not disable sync.
How do I turn on battery saver?
From the Home screen, touch and hold the Recent Apps Key (in the Touch Keys bar) > Settings > Battery > Battery saver. From the Battery saver screen, tap Turn Battery saver on (at the top of the screen) to set the phone to activate Battery saver mode immediately, when the charge drops to 10%, 20%, 30%, or 50%.
When should you use a battery saver?
You can also turn on battery saver at any time.
What changes when battery saver is on
- Apps only refresh their content, like email or news, when you look at the app.
- Location services stop when your screen is off.
- Apps stop doing things in the background, unless you turn off battery optimization.
Does battery saver really work?
Test 1: Screen on Time
After all, most of what a battery saver app does is shut down background processes, which has more to do with extending standby time. But apparently turning off Bluetooth, dialing back brightness, and other tweaks do in fact help even with extending screen on time — at least marginally.
