I totally agree with you: Apple EarBuds and AirBuds are terrible earphones, they are produced with a slippery hard plastic, so if they don’t perfectly fit your ear they will not stay in place or they will even hurt your ears.

However a lot of Apple customers are apparently and inexplicably very satisfied.
